SUPS Black Rifle matches are a timed Practical Shooting match run with a modern semi-auto rifle. Distances are between 5 yards and 150 yards.
Black Rifle matches usually take place on the 4th Saturday of each month, unless that conflicts with one of our major events. Check the SUPS Calendar page for exact schedule.
Typically a Black Rifle match will require between 80 and 120 rounds of ammo to complete. Because we shoot steel targets, no steel core or bi-metal ammunition is allowed: if the bullet sticks to a magnet, you can’t shoot it here. We do sell .223 Remington, 9mm and .22 LR in our Pro Shop at a reasonable price, if you need ammo. Sportsman’s Warehouse is known to carry non-metal 7.62×39 ammo from S&B, if you plan on shooting an AK.
Divisions recognized in SUPS Black Rifle matches
